The NEOTERIC DEVELOPMENTS/ND Management Bursary was created to encourage more young women to enter the fields of architecture, business, or engineering. Estimates suggest that Canada’s construction industry will lose one-third of its skilled workers to retirement over the next decade. Currently, Canadian women represent just 4% of the construction industry’s skilled trade workforce.

This bursary will encourage young women to consider a career that allows them to put their skills, creativity, and artistry to work in fields that are fundamental to building Canada’s future: architecture, business, or engineering.

Purpose of the Award

The NEOTERIC DEVELOPMENTS/ND Management Bursary was created by owner and president Shneur (Or) Bielak to pay it forward, open doors to the construction industry, and keep youth motivated to seek higher education. Its eligibility criteria will encourage more young women to enter the fields of architecture, business, or engineering. The award will help build a stronger Ottawa.

Eligibility

Female graduates of Lisgar Collegiate or Glebe Collegiate.

Judging/Criteria for Selection of Winner (you will be asked to):

• provide a brief description of how this student demonstrated a commitment to community building,
• include the student’s academic achievements.

Eligible students will be selected annually by Neoteric Developments/ND Management’s Shneur (Or) Bielak.

Award

Awards are $500/school.
