*Application link found below*
We have a shared vision and understanding that access to education will help break down the barriers to accessing S.T.E.M.-based post-secondary studies. Through the partnership with Stantec, the Ottawa Senators and the Senators Community Foundation (SCF), we can tackle this burning issue impacting our youth and have a measurable impact on the future of the children in our community.
Purpose of the Award
The Stantec/Sens Community Foundation S.T.E.M Award will provide opportunities for financial aid to students interested in S.T.E.M.-based post-secondary studies who are in historically underrepresented groups such as racialized individuals, Indigenous peoples, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, women, and persons with disabilities. Those from military families, those who face economic barriers in pursuing post-secondary (college or university) education, and those who are the first family members to attend post-secondary studies will also be considered.
Eligibility
Graduating OCDSB students going on to study and to pursue a career in the field of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) at the College or University level.
Criteria for Selection of Winner
Applications will be reviewed by the Education Foundation of Ottawa, a member of Stantec, and the Senators Community Foundation team in March and will be awarded to the selected applicants.
Award
There are four awards for $5000/each.
