The Suddy and Barbara Ashfield Award

This award is to help remove economic barriers to successful learning by supporting students in need attending schools in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.
Purpose of the Award
To provide a well-rounded student in need of financial support the ability to move into the next stage of their academic career.
Eligibility
All graduating OCDSB students are eligible for this award.
Criteria for Selection of Winner
The Ashfield’s have defined a well-rounded student in need of financial support as a student who:
- Is continuing their education at a college or university;
- Has achieved academic success; and,
- Has volunteered and/or given to their community.
Judging
All applications will be reviewed and assessed by the Review and Recommendation Committee for the Foundation and the results of the selection process will be reported back to principals. The principal of the school must support and approve all grant applications.
Award
The number of awards is dependent on the annual amount received by the Education Foundation of Ottawa. There are typically 20 (or so) awards of $1000 that will be given to an OCDSB graduate.
Application period: Monday, April 22nd, 2024 – Friday, May 24th, 2024.
